Jesus Died on a Friday, Resurrected the 3rd Day… 😮

Where was He in between those days?

All this time I feel like I’ve been sleeping, spiritually speaking. I was building my career, spending time with my family, but now that I have more time, I started reading, studying and questioning different movements and religions, including my own.

You know this week we are celebrating Easter, and I’ve always listened to the readings of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John when it comes to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but I’ve never questioned myself as to, “Where did Jesus go after he died?” So, here is what I found, it gets interesting.

Where Did Jesus Go After He Died?

We all know that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and it was one of the worst ways of dying; being tortured for hours before being pierced by nails through His hands, feet and the crown of thorns in His head.

As all of these events are happening, we start getting clues as to where Jesus is going. Next to Him, on one of the crosses, there’s a criminal who’s suffering as well, and he tells Jesus, Luke 23:42,

And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

and Jesus answered,

… “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

That’s our first clue, they were going to paradise. Notice how He didn’t say, “heaven” but “paradise”. I know, I know, now you have more questions, me too.

In order to understand what I am going to explain next, we first need to understand that the bible has been translated into many languages and we have adopted some of these words. There’s a place that is the realm of the dead that in Hebrew is called Sheol and in Greek, the same place is called Hades.

In the newest versions of the Bible, these two words are substituted by Hell. By doing more research, I found that Hades is a place that holds paradise and a place of torment.

There’s the story about Lazarus and the rich man, in that story it tells us how Lazarus died as well as the rich man, they can see each other in Hades, but they are in two completely different places. If you want to read more about it, you can read this article.

So, now we have the answer to our question. Jesus went to paradise, which is not heaven, and it was located in Hades.

Now, it is important to know that after Jesus' resurrection, Paradise was moved to the third heaven Ephesians 2:5–6(there are three heavens, in case you didn’t know, 2 Corinthians 12:2).

Does That Mean That Hell Does Not Exist?

Hell does exist. I have not seen it, and I definitely don’t want to see it to come back and tell you that it exists.

There have been many stories of people that have died, went to hell, and for some reason, they were given another chance to come back and change their lives.

I am not advocating that all of these stories are real, but the most interesting thing about all of these anecdotes is that they are very, very, very similar. They all talked about this place of indescribable torment and how everything is 200% more real than the world that we live in, their senses are heightened.

I truly believe that the spiritual world is more real than the world that we are living in. It’s hard to believe it since we’ve never seen it but I invite you to try it. When we pray, we are moving things in the spiritual world, and they have a repercussion in the spiritual world. Believing in something we can’t see is called faith.

I’ve also done my research into witchcraft and I’ve learned as to why more and more people are falling into this trap. Witchcraft appeals more to your senses because Satan is the prince of this world, Ephesians 2:2. There are documentaries and videos of warlocks and witches that talk about how they can see Satan, how they see demons, it’s more tangible, why would they not fall for it?

That’s no excuse, most of them find out, sooner or later, that Jesus is the King of Kings. No power equals the power of Jesus Christ. I invite you to do read the book “Witch That Switched”, it’s scary but eye-opening.

Make Sure You Know Where You are Going

I know, I know, you are a good person and you are going to heaven, right? Well, I used to think that and I have come to discover that this is wrong. We don’t go to heaven just for being “good”.

Ephesians 2:8–9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

We have been saved by faith, we need to have faith that 2000 years ago Jesus died on that cross for our sins; we need to have faith that He resurrected on the third day; we need to have faith that He will come back for us, and that time is not too far from today. When Israel was formed as a nation in 1948 the countdown clock was started. Are you ready?

Please share this post with someone that you think needs to hear this, to our sleeping Christian friends, as I was sleeping as well.

May God Be With You ❤️
